What can a stool sample show?
We offer Ortho-Analytic's microbiome profiles. Together, we select the appropriate profile for your questions and clarify its scope before you receive the sampling kit.
Gut microbiome
Ortho-Analytic offers profiles that examine the composition of the gut microbiome. Depending on the profile, the report includes information about bacterial groups, their diversity and the stool pH.
Additional laboratory markers
Depending on the selected microbiome profile, additional laboratory parameters may also be included. We explain the scope of the selected analysis before you receive the sampling kit.

From your enquiry to your results
Four simple steps
1. Get in touch
Tell us about your questions and any previous investigations. We explain the analysis and provide you with the appropriate sampling kit.
2. Collect the sample at home
Collect the required stool sample using the containers supplied. The kit includes detailed instructions on collection and handling.
3. Return the sample
Send the sample using the addressed, prepaid return packaging included in your kit. Follow the instructions for storage and dispatch.
4. Discuss your report
Once the results have arrived, we arrange a personal appointment at Klosterdrogerie. We take time to explain the findings and discuss individual recommendations with you.
You collect the stool sample at home using the kit provided. No blood sample is needed for the stool analysis itself. Please follow the kit instructions carefully.
Preparation, storage and dispatch requirements depend on the analysis. Read the enclosed instructions and contact us if anything is unclear. Tell us about medicines and supplements you take; do not stop prescribed medication on your own.
A stool report provides information about the parameters measured. It cannot explain every symptom or diagnose all digestive conditions. Microbiome findings need to be interpreted in context. A suspected infection, food allergy or coeliac disease requires the appropriate specific medical investigations.
Our team gives you individual recommendations, taking your symptoms, eating habits and balanced nutrition into account. If you have a pre-existing condition, dietary changes should be coordinated with your treating doctor. Persistent or worsening symptoms, blood in the stool or unexplained weight loss should be medically assessed.
